Teacher examinations

Commercial Education Society of Australia examinations for both college students and potential teachers have been an important part of the independent examination service offered by CESA since establishment in 1910.

The Teacher's Diploma syllabuses identify the relevant competency standards, and are designed to prepare candidates to interpret and apply the national documents in a practical training environment. The objective is to test candidates' technical knowledge and skill in depth, as well as their ability to deliver training in both the classroom and the workplace. The wide range of knowledge and skills to be tested should ensure that successful candidates are fully competent to teach students at all stages of their development from Level 2 to Level 4.

Teacher's Diploma candidates are required to sit for three papers. Two papers, scheduled mid-year, deal with technical aspects of the subject. The third paper, offered at the end of the year, is concerned with both general education theory and classroom method applied to the specific subject.

A Level 5 Research Assignment is required for each subject. For details choose the individual subject links below, or contact the Society’s Office to request copies be posted to you.
